E42: Ready to Travel Again & Fasting Follow-Up
Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, our home life, casual fashion, and travel when possible. I’m happy that you’re here with me.
In this episode I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, continue with a blog update, then wrap up with my most recent domestic diversion.
Today in our military-affected lives I have nothing significant to update.
COVID-19 continues to challenge Mister Jupiter’s workplace, but they are working through it and isolating people as needed…including Mister Jupiter who recently tested negative again.
Otherwise our military-affected lives are the same; and we are just ready to put this pandemic behind us. Military families like us are accustomed to not seeing family regularly, but even this is a bit much (especially since we’re all in the same country). Normally we would have traveled to Las Vegas once or twice, we would have had all of our parents take turns visiting us in Arkansas, and we would have traveled to see at least one grandparent. But instead we have largely stayed home. Mister only travels for work, and I got out just once for a very careful ladies trip.

Since last week I have updated one post –Outfits of the Day– link in the show notes. We can expect progress on LadyJupiter.com to mostly halt. I fear that we have lost our nanny, so my writing time will again compete with eating, sleeping, showering, cooking, and cleaning…until I can find childcare for Kid Jupiter again.

And now for my most recent domestic diversion
This past week I have actually folded some laundry! To be honest there are clothes waiting on me in the dryer right now, but that’s just a single load’s worth of folding, versus my classic three and a half loads all crammed into the one machine.
What’s astounding is that the house is moderately clean too – so the only things that really took a backseat were 1) my writing time, and 2) any out-of-the-house chores.
So this week I am focusing on donations. I saw the public wishlist for a local shelter and I will be buying for them tomorrow, then delivering by the weekend; also I have two boxes ready for Goodwill, and I need to gather a few things for local free little pantry.
Oh – and here’s my fasting follow-up, since I was fasting last week. I fasted for three days (on black coffee, water, and sea salt) and ended at 81 hours. Those three days were easy – I never got hungry, so it was a breeze. I woke up on day four feeling weak and lethargic, so I broke the fast with Athletic Greensand probiotic cottage cheese. I felt great overall and I look forward to fasting for a few days again (whenever I choose to). I wanted to immediately benefit my microbiome, hence eating probiotics to end my fast. I picked Athletic Greens because I love the range of vitamins, minerals, and probiotic cultures. I’ll drop an affiliate link in the show notes to the single serving packets that I use because I like being able to travel with a few servings on the rare occasion that I do travel.
